My Bucket List
Hypothetical situation: I have only one more day remaining on earth. What are the five things I will do before I die?
1. Donate 40% of my belongings to PETA and 10% to Childline. The remaining will go to my sister.
2. Call or visit every person I've ever known.
3. Confess to every guy I have had a crush on.
4. If I haven't already, make sweet sweet love with a random stranger/an ex.
5. Spend the last few hours with my family, laughing, joking, like we always do!
Then, I can die in peace :)

Those were the days...
I really hated school. I hated my teachers, I hated the bullies who tortured me, I hated everyone else. I had no friends, and I was extremely lonely. There was just one thing I used to look forward to in school - vacations.
I think the 90s were really the golden age for children. There was no PS2, very little TV shows for kids, and not everyone could afford a computer. The only source of entertainment was playing games with your friends. And we did just that.
As soon as vacations arrived, our cricket bats, badminton racquets, footballs, board games were out. From morning till late evening we would play games. And our group was also an amazing one. My sister and I were the only girls among 4-5 boys. And I was ALWAYS the leader (since I was the eldest!) And of course, my barmy army always listened to me too!
Sis and I have the loudest laughs. We would play such nonsensical games, and we would laugh everyday..our laughter echoing throughout the building. We fantasized ourselves to be superheroes. Here were some of them:
1. Power Rangers: I was the pink one
2. Centurions: I was the green one
3. Final Fantasy Seven: I was the main hero (Cloud)
We shot movies with our ancient cam-corder. I shot a hilarious movie about a group of heroes defeating the villain "Phata Dahi" (Spoilt yogurt). We spent almost everyday in each other's house, playing games on our now-fossilised gaming consoles (ahh..the cartridge era!). We exchanged books, read and discussed them. We did everything a normal kid in the 90s did.
But then things change. Everyone moved away. All of us grew up. Superheros forgotten. Cam-corder stored. From our original group, there is only one other person who stays in the building, and we meet only thrice a year (on our respective birthdays).
I don't have any qualms, cause life is, afterall, about change! But those memories of the amazing time we spent during vacations is something I will never forget. Cheers to that :)

New beginnings
He likes long hair.
I have been growing my hair from the last two years.
They grew. They reached just below my bra-strap.
But then, he was gone.
And my hair grew matted, and tangled.
Split ends, knots.
Tears. Sobs. Depression.
One day, I had enough.
I got up, I rose.
Smiled. And made my way to the salon.
Snip. Snip. Snip.
The knots, mats, tangles fell to the ground.
Now my hair falls just below my ears.
And I love it.
And I love me :)

10 fun things to do without spending a dime
( I got inspired after reading this article. I couldn't think up 20, but 10 is good enough :D)
So we all know recession has hit, and bad. I can no longer have Rs. 5,000 worth Body Shop hauls, and other such exuberant spendings. So, I made this list of 10 fun things to do without spending a dime. I hope they help you too!
10. Annoy your mother: Poke her. Make loud noises. Get in her way. Annoy her any way you can. Hell hath no fury, like a mummy annoyed! And, it's fun while it lasts! :D This can also work on your dad/sibling/dog. Be careful of the dog though. It can/will/may bite!
9. Doodle: Doodling is my favorite pastime. Just give me a notebook and a pen, and I'll fill it up in a matter of minutes! Doodles sometimes turn out to be great works of art! So never throw them out. I still have all my doodles with me.
8. Drink water: And lots of it. Then, go to some unknown place. What goes in, must come out, no? Then, have fun searching for a restroom to relieve yourself in. ;)
7. Make a list!: Random lists are so fun! They just make a you think sometimes for hours (What's your favorite colour?!) Finishing them is quite fulfilling, if you put your mind to it!
6. Zone out: Just stare at a wall, and slowly zone out. Zoning out is one of my favorite things, cause you can do it anywhere. Just pick a spot, stare at it, and clear your head of all thoughts. Works best during pathetic/boring meetings. The boss thinks you're listening, while you have been somewhere else. Fun! :D
5. Go for a walk: Walking does not have to be a task or a boring routine. Go for a walk somewhere you haven't been before. Take a different route from the one you usually do. Take a camera along and take random photographs. Healthy, AND fun!
4. Daydream: Daydreaming is close to zoning out, except that in daydreams, you're actually thinking about something. You can be anywhere/anybody with anybody you want. My most frequent daydreams involves me having Giselle Bundchen's body and having a jet-setting life. Of course, when you come back from your daydream, you come back to earth, but that 10 minutes as Giselle is certainly fun, and totally worth it!
3. Spa Day: Pamper yourself - at home! Make homemade facials, give yourself a manicure/pedicure. Paint your nails in funky colours! (My fav - hot pink!)
2. Photograph yourself - You are da bomb. Yes you, reading this! Then why not capture this on celuloid? Just whip out that camera and give your best poses. Pout, blow air kisses - whatever! You should be your own muse! I take my photo every opportunity I get. I love me! :D
And finally....
Drum roll please!!!!
The no. 1 fun thing to do without spending a dime is..................
1. Make out/Have sex: I don't need to explain this. Just please, use condoms!
So that concludes my list! I hope you had fun reading this :) You didn't even had to spend a dime!

Yes.
Random.
Moving on
I stand in front of the full-length mirror.
I look at myself.
I am no longer what I used to be.
My eyes have dark circles.
They are swollen and red.
They don't have a sparkle.
My lips, they don't smile no more.
No smiles reach my eyes.
I don't walk.
I just shuffle.
My heart is heavy, all the time.
It beats slower.
I am nothing.
But a shell.
Whose soul you took away.
I await its return.
Till then.
I look forward to nothing.
I look at myself.
I am no longer what I used to be.

A taste of honey... tasting much sweeter than wine.
In the brightest hour of my darkest day
I realized what is wrong with me
Can't get over you. Can't get through to you
It's been a helter-skelter romance from the start
Take these memories that are Haunting me
Of a paper man cut into shreds by his own pair of scissors
He'll never forgive her...he'll never forgive her...
I dream of your first kiss, and then,I feel upon my lips again
A taste of honey... tasting much sweeter than wine.
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever
I will return, yes I will return,I'll come back for the honey and you.
Sitting by a fire on a lonely night
Hanging over from another good time
With another girl... little dirty girl
You should listen to this story of a life
You're my heroine-in this moment I'm lonely fulfilling my darkest dreams
All these drugs all these womenI'm never forgiven... this broken heart of mine
Yours was the kiss that awoke my heart,
There lingers still, 'though we're far apart,
That taste of honey... tasting much sweeter than wine.
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever,
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever
I will return, yes I will return,I'll come back (he'll come back) for the honey (for the honey) and you.
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever,
Because days come and go but my feelings for you are forever
Then.
Now.

I'm famous!
Dudes and dudettes.
Or just Nikki (I think she's the only one who reads my blog now-a-days..can't really blame anyone though!)
I'm famous. Can't deny it. My persona is just so..magnanimous! Here's a list of stuff I have been in:
1. Mumbai Mirror - wrote an article
2. Mid Day - wrote an article + photographs published + featured in "Your Say"
3. JAM Magazine- won a contest
4. DNA - featured in "Speak Up"
5. Bindaas tv - was on the tube telling people what colour should Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next film be (I said brown, cause his films are the SHIT)
6. MTV - these fuckers did a sting operation on me eating a cookie. It was a show on weight loss. Mother fuckers. I should sue.
7. Channel [V] - came in "IQ". Was asked what do camels store in their hump? I said fat. (I see a pattern emerging here....)
The above list is legit and completely true. So fans, next time you see me, do ask for an autograph! I charge only $20000 per pen stroke!
Muah. Muah! (Air kisses!)
P.S. I have the right to be conceited. Come on! I'm famous!!!
